Testimonials

“Sarah developed an excellent rapport with my son, creating an environment of trust and encouragement where my son felt safe and confident. She was extremely communicative with me about my son’s progress and was effective at conveying what I can do between sessions to provide additional support. She was an invaluable addition to our meetings with the local school and CAHMS as we worked towards my son’s mental and emotional health and continued academic education. Sarah has a natural ability to adapt to any situation and does so with empathy and respect. We could not have managed without her, and our son would not be the confident young man he has become without her support. We would highly recommend her to any family needing help and support.” (S. Martin)

“I was 15 and living in the back of a van. I didn’t have a bathroom and couldn’t wash or brush my teeth unless I was able to use a friend’s bathroom. I attended school, my clothes were dirty, I looked unwell and I was a mess. No one helped, no one asked questions, apart from Sarah. Sarah managed to find me somewhere to live and supported me whilst I got used to living in supported lodgings. She helped sort out medical and dental appointments, new clothes and was there for me every step of the way. I believe if it hadn’t been for her support I would have died.” (J. Coley)

“My daughter has autism and is non-verbal, we contacted Wilson Wellbeing for help and advice. What we got was something more supportive and beneficial than we could have ever imagined. Through the use of colour and creative sensory experiences, which included taking our daughter through the car wash, we were better able to understand our daughter’s emotions and as such create an environment that was more considerate of our daughter’s needs. Sarah’s non-judgmental, kind and family orientated approach helped make us feel heard and truly supported.” (G. Thompson)

“Following a bereavement, I engaged Sarah to help with my mental health and help me manage my feelings of loss. Sarah talked through the stages of grief, helping me understand what I was going through. Most important of all, she listened to me, I felt confident and comfortable in revealing my feelings to her. From going through a difficult time where I was finding it a challenge to function with anything in life in a normal way, with Sarah’s help I learned that these feeling were natural and that there was a path through them – I’m not sure if it would have been possible to arrive at a place of happiness without her help. I wouldn’t hesitate to call on her again in the need arose.” (J. McAlister)

“Sarah’s knowledge and understanding of the developing young mind helped me to understand how flexible and adaptable you need to be. She goes above and beyond to encourage a positive relationship with her clients, understanding their history and the barriers they face to enable them to believe, to face challenges and push through, to explore, recognise and adjust. Her interest in life is infectious. Sarah’s thorough investigative approach means her clients are offered a wide variety of activities and interests, coping strategies, and solutions. She taps into their strengths, enables them (their worries/concerns) to grow positively. She is an inspiration, has a kind soul, with a ‘we will find a way’ approach.”(K. Misslebrooke)
